| All Day Event | Register for Creative Kids at the South Garland Branch Library School-age children, ages 7 to 12, have the opportunity to become creative kids this summer by joining the Creative Kids Group at the South Garland Branch Library. This program series features a different class each Tuesday, beginning June 11 and ending July 30. Each class runs from 2 to 3 p.m. During these sessions children will learn a new creative skill and then practice with hands-on activities and crafts. There is a class to engage almost every child. | 2:30 PM | Block Party in the Library at the South Garland Branch Library Have a child who likes to build things? Block Party in the Library is designed to help children test their building skills and stretch their imaginations while having fun.
2:30 to 3:30 p.m., Saturday, May 25 at the South Garland Branch Library
All Block Party in the Library events are free and open to children ages 4 to 12 and their caregivers. Children ages 6 and under must be accompanied by an adult in order to attend. The Branch Libraries (North Garland, South Garland and Walnut Creek) are always closed on Sundays and Mondays.
The Central Library will reopen on Tuesday, May 28 and resume normal hours.
During library closures: Wireless access will remain on at all Library buildings Online Resources are always available to card holders with Internet access The Library catalog is available to search and place holds Access to My Account is available to renew your materials

| 6:00 PM | Library Advisory Board Monthly Meeting The purpose of the Library Board is to advise the City Council on problems relating to the Public Library and to recommend plans and programs to promote the library system for the city. The Board approves library policies, long range plans, and other pertinent documents as they are recommended by Claire Bausch, Director of Libraries.
They meet monthly on second Mondays at 6 p.m. in the Library’s Board room at the Central Library. All meetings are open to the public unless the Board goes into executive session.
Meeting agendas and approved minutes are posted on the website for citizen review. |
